Ana & Rares: Church Wedding in Crete
There are so many reasons why we love sharing wedding stories of our couples.
Through their journeys, you can explore different wedding locations and get a clearer vision of what might suit your dream day—whether it’s a beach, the mountains, a winery, or something else entirely. You’ll find inspiration for setups, decorations, and ceremonies, along with useful information to help answer the questions you might be asking yourself.
Ana Maria & Rares
dreamt of a church wedding. A quick note here: anyone of Orthodox, Christian, or Catholic faith can wed in a Greek church. The list of documents required for a church wedding can vary, as each priest may request a different set of documents. It’s worth mentioning that Greek church weddings are conducted in Greek. However, we provide programs that include step-by-step guidance and translations of the key parts of the ceremony, ensuring everyone knows what’s happening.
It’s also important to understand that the Orthodox Church in Greece holds a lot of power, meaning that if you opt for a church wedding, we must follow their rules and traditions exactly as prescribed. Unfortunately, this means no changes can be made to the ceremony.
Ana and Rares traveled to Crete three times in search of the perfect venue. After all, you want to feel the place to know it’s the one. Their final choice was a stunning Karavitakis Winery.
