In recent years, the Crete tourist season has expanded significantly. What was once a short window (May to September) has grown into a bustling season stretching from April through late November. While this is wonderful for tourism, it changes the landscape for couples planning a site visit.

During the height of summer, Crete is vibrant, but it is also operating at full capacity.

For Private Villas: If you are scouting exclusive wedding villas, we strongly advise against visiting between late April and late October. These villas are typically fully booked for holidays and property managers prioritize the privacy of their current guests. You likely won’t be granted a tour, as protecting the guest experience is paramount.
For Restaurants & Event Spaces: If you have your heart set on a specific restaurant, estate or open-access venue, summer is a great time to visit to soak in the atmosphere. Just keep in mind that food and drink tastings are rarely available during this busy period, as chefs and staff are focused on executing current events.

December through February are traditionally restorative months for the wedding industry on Crete. It is the time when most vendors recharge, reflect, and prepare to come back refreshed for the new season ahead. If you visit during these months, expect a slower, more relaxed pace.
