The wedding season in Crete never really starts quietly. Before the first couples arrive, before the first flowers are delivered and the first chairs are placed by the sea, there is always a moment when our team and the people behind the weddings need to meet again. Not as planners, photographers, florists, or DJs. Just as people.

This year Crete Within Weddings will host our informal gathering for wedding professionals on 31 March 2026 at Poquito Bar in Rethymno, a small evening created simply to reconnect before the season begins. Drinks are on us!

We do love this tradition we started last year : to meet new and old vendors/partners before the season starts. The wedding industry is intense. During the season we move quickly from one event to another, solving problems, managing expectations, and working under pressure. In that rhythm there is rarely time to stop and simply talk. Yet weddings themselves are built on collaboration. A good event is never the result of one person’s work. It is always the result of a team, often a team that has to trust each other under difficult circumstances.

And we know that trust does not appear during a wedding day. It grows earlier - in conversations, in shared laughter, in moments where people can see each other not as competitors or service providers, but as colleagues and friends.

That is why gatherings like this matter. Crete has its own rhythm.People remember who they worked with, who supported them, who shared a table and a drink. Many couples choose Crete not only because of its landscapes, but because of this human atmosphere, the feeling that behind every service there are real people who care. For us as professionals, protecting that culture is important. A strong wedding industry does not grow only through marketing or social media visibility. It grows through community.

A program:

Our vendors’ evening is not a conference and not a networking event in the formal sense. It is simply an opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you from our planners’ side to people with whom we share this industry. This year we are preparing a light and entertaining program, including:

• A short stand-up comedy performance by Daria
• An astrology forecasts corner
• A small lottery
• Music and relaxed conversations

And of course, drinks are on us.
