Key Timelines for a Destination Wedding
Planning a wedding—especially a destination wedding—requires careful timing. Whether you’ve already decided on Crete as your dream location or are still exploring options, knowing when to book your wedding planner is essential. Based on our experience, market knowledge, and services, we’re here to guide you through the ideal booking timelines to help you plan with ease.
We’ve previously covered key topics like wedding budget, catering and weather. Now, let’s talk about one of the most crucial aspects of wedding planning—when to book your wedding planner to ensure a seamless and stress-free experience.
Choosing Your Wedding Date
Once you’ve estimated your wedding budget and considered Crete’s seasonal weather, the next step is selecting your ideal month. Here’s what you need to know about booking timelines with us:
May & June Weddings
If you’re planning a wedding in May or June, we highly recommend booking your date 1.5 to 2 years in advance—especially for bank holiday weekends, which are in high demand. Early booking also ensures that essential vendors, such as venue, photographers, florists, and caterers, are available for your big day.
Summer Weekends (Peak Season)
Greek weddings are experiencing its highest peak over summer (esp July & August) and mostly happen over weekends, this means that a lot of venues and especially catering companies since there aren’t that many on the island experience high demand, therefore we also advice to book us 1.5 – 2 years in advance to secure your ideal venue and other essential vendors for your ideal date.
Spring & Autumn Weddings (April, October, November)
If you’re considering a wedding in early spring or late autumn, booking one year in advance is typically enough to secure your preferred date and vendors. These months offer more flexibility while still providing beautiful weather for your destination wedding.
Elopements
For elopements, timelines are generally more flexible as less vendors are required. However, the availability of key vendor— a photographer—can vary depending on the season and the day of the week. If you’re planning a spontaneous elopement, you might get lucky with last-minute availability, but booking in advance will always give you the best selection of professionals to capture your special day but again it all depends on the month and day of the week.
Plan Ahead for a Stress-Free Wedding
By securing your wedding planner within these recommended timelines, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that every detail is in expert hands and our vast expert experience will provide you right vendors and venues that will reflect best your taste, vision and budget. Also planning ahead allows you to enjoy the process without the stress of last-minute availability concerns.
