Hurry up to see a celebration that truly went grand! Jahnay and Charles, a charming couple from Washington DC, and their friends brought an exquisite touch to their big day, proving that when you celebrate, you celebrate in style. It took 12 months to plan this unforgettable day. That was a blast! We are so happy to be the part of it!
The program was intense – 3 days of events within a week stay. Jahnay and Charles wanted their guests to have a great time in Crete and created a packed schedule of activities. Wine tasting, clubbing, pole party (yeah, Jahnay’s hobby is pole dancing) , multiple food feasts, ahhh and… the cherry on the top – a wedding day at Agerco Farm, the wedding venue #1 in Crete.
Let’s remember this beautiful day step by step
Jahnay
By looking at Jahnay, such a beautiful bride, we can’t help but marvel at the uniqueness of every bride we meet. Each one has her own distinct charm, but what unites them all is how moving their presence is. Jahnay is not just a gorgeous lady with a charming smile and a sense of beauty. Her job is related to organizing corporate events, and she skillfully prepares estimates and lists. But besides all of this, her main hobby is pole dancing. And this could not help but reflect on the celebration of the wedding. You can see the realz from the pre-wedding party at the club in Rethymno on our Instagram. It was something !
Jahnay made the call to get ready with her bridesmaids at the venue. Agreco Farms offers accommodations for the day of the event. They have 2 suites available – one for the bride and one for the groom. Couples also have the option to use both suites for an extra cost. Talk about convenience!
Charles
While our beautiful brides usually steal the show (and of course with all the light of happiness they are radiating—the dress, the hair, the makeup, the flowers, etc.), there’s an untold story of emotions and love unfolding behind the scenes for the groom. The emotional suspense in preparation, standing and waiting for her to walk down the aisle, seeing her for the first time next to him, reading out his vows, declaring his profound love for his wife while giving his first speech with the special life details that brought them to this day.
The emotional intensity of the first look is only matched by the moment of the ceremony. Charles’ unwavering love for his beautiful wife was a sight to behold, a journey of emotions we were privileged to capture. We laughed and cried as we witnessed this pure expression and declaration of love to one another.
Before the ceremony
In recent years, the weather in Crete has become unpredictable, and on the day of the wedding in mid-May, the blue sky was covered with clouds brought by the southern wind from the Sahara. Fortunately, both our bride and groom have easy-going personalities, and the weather hasn’t affected their mood at all. With our loved ones by our side, we are in a beautiful place, surrounded by love and care! What else do we need for a great celebration?” – Charles said.
As a little note from us and our professional observation: in recent years, we’ve seen grooms take a more active role in planning their special day, contributing their hearts and souls to create a day that reflects their unique love story. Love is all around and we love love.
From series of Vanity Fair and Vogue-inspired group photos to moments filled with laughter, their sense of humor shined through every frame. It was a day full of elegance and joy, making it a wedding to remember.
Wedding decor
Jahnay, our gorgeous bride, she knew exactly what she wanted and was very precise with her envision. The fact that a couple have visited the venue in advance helped a lot. Many thanks to our decorator Ana’s excellent communication and meticulous planning. Every detail was perfect! In Crete, finding skilled decorators can be challenging, but each year the wedding industry evolves and delivers more and more. Please, remember we are limited people on the island in the ratio to its visitors and weddings a season, so make sure you have your vendors of choice booked well in advance. Your wedding planner in Crete is here to assist you.
Jahnay wanted the main colors of the wedding decor to be the so-called natural earth tones. In the end it was brown, olive, and beige color palette. We all agreed that these colors matched perfectly with the style of the wedding venue. Agreco venue was designed as a traditional Cretan village, which is rustic.
As part of the Guest Seating plan the couple chose shots with raki. Each shot contained the name of the guest and the number of the table where their seat was located. The decorator adorned each shot with Cretan mountain herbs. It was an excellent alternative to the plan printed on paper.
The ceremony
Most couples choose to have the ceremony near the famous Agreco chapel located in the small square. You have probably seen it in hundreds of photos on the internet when you search for “wedding in Crete”. But our couple did not consider themselves religious people and preferred to move the ceremony under a pergola area, where guests would be protected from the sun’s rays and could enjoy a great view of the sea.
The moment of the ceremony is one of our favorites. It is the peak of the wedding day, the peak of what came before, it is truly a portal to a new life, a new stage. Every time we sincerely experience this moment with our couple.
The old mutual friend of the couple conducted the ceremony . He wrote a special speech. We were very happy with a celebrant’s choice, as who else but he knows the history of this love thoroughly. He mentioned a lot of funny moments. The guests laughed a lot, and when Jahnay and Charles exchanged vows, we all cried with emotion.

Cocktail hour
The cocktail hour typically begins right after the ceremony and it is a great way to unwind after the most emotional moment. Now you can relax, now it’s time to have fun.
Jahnay and Charles chose the lower terrace overlooking the vineyards and the sea as the place for cocktails. While the guests were enjoying their cocktails, the couple took photos. It must be said that as wedding photographers, they chose the fabulous duo Manos and Georgia, known as MeandGeorgia, thanks to whom we can relived these beautiful memories. In our wedding planners’ opinion, many of Me and Georgia works deserve to be published in magazines. Perhaps, they are the most modern photographers working in Crete. Their style perfectly matches our vision and often even surpasses it.
As we have already mentioned, our couple has attached great importance to the comfort and entertainment of the guests. “All these people have come such a long way for us! (From the States to Crete) We feel so grateful and want them to have a truly enjoyable experience!” – Jahnay said. Lawn games, cigar station, Photo Booth were on the list. And you know what – people loved it and participated in competition with pleasure!
Don’t hesitate to upgrade your wedding with entertaining options such as game zone, a cigar station and many more that would reflect your personality.
A Cigar station for those who know.
Photo booth is a great combination with a guest album. You take a shot, it’s printed right away and you pin your photo right to the album with best wishes.
** The Photo Booth studio will only work its magic once the lights are out! So get ready to strike a pose in the dark.
Dinner
At the wedding dinner, the tables were breaking from abundance. We warned the couple that all this was impossible to eat, because in Crete the portions are huge and you should order carefully. However Charles wanted to taste it all. The Cretan kitchen is famous for delicious meat dishes.
The couple’s entrance to dinner guests was epic.
Wedding party
These pictures are often hidden away at the end of the carousel, overshadowed by the gorgeous bride’s photos, ceremonies, and family shots. But let’s shift the focus to the real highlight—the party! This is where the true celebration kicks in. The wedding day stress has melted away, making room for a night of pure revelry.
Honestly, we can’t wait for these moments either. The energy is contagious—everyone, from the young to the old, is out on the dance floor. It’s a whirlwind of movement and happiness set to the rhythm of the music.
Music is a very, very important component of the wedding in Crete. Music guides us through different stages of the wedding day: the bride’s appearance, the newlywed couple’s exit, the first dance. What makes your wedding truly yours is when you choose the music for these moments—songs that played during special times in your life. As for the party, you can either send a playlist of the music you want to dance to—your favorite bands, styles, etc.—or simply choose the style of music, and the DJ will skillfully mix it accordingly.
We have plenty of talented DJs in Crete, but we’ve noticed how many of our beautiful couples bring their own. If that’s your choice, we’re here to be the bridge between the DJ and all the necessary gear and equipment they’ll need for the day. Whatever it is, we’ve got you covered.
** If you want to achieve a club atmosphere at a wedding party – be sure to rent disco balls packages.
Wish you all the best, Jahnay and Charles! Keep on dancing! Looking forward for our new meetings in Crete!
